A small dedicated group of 6 or 7 clans in a chilean league (http://www.nod.cl/ladder/teams.php?teamid=5959) continue to keep the game of CoD:WW alive with the help of comMod in the country of Chile, South America.

TeVerde of the Urban Operation Sovietic clan is looking to inject a bit more life in the game and is actively seeking out other clans or players from Chile and the whole of Latin America to keep the game active.

So if you`re a player or clan based in Chile and fancy a scrim/pcw or are looking for a clan to join then get in touch with TeVerde via xfire => teverde1 or via email to cod__666@<NOSPAM>hotmail.com (remove the words <NOSPAM>)

comMod v2 Released
Written by Chris
Wednesday, 21 October 2009

Today we are pleased to release competitionMod v2. A new feature rich version of the standard Call of Duty: World at War mod.

In this release it concentrates on bringing some of the benefits of previous mods to CoD:WW, namely the shoutcaster mode and also the weapons class saving ability. Users can now set their weapon loadout and as long as servers use the standard fs_game this weapon loadout information will be saved for the next game, greatly improving the speed and ease of setting up your favourite weapon loadouts.

Other features such as the grenade strat mode allow for nade training and strats to be easily learnt for clan based use.

One of the biggest changes argued in the CoD:WW community for many months is the removal of the ability to cook grenades. With the recent destructive annoucement regarding MW2 it is deemed that removing cookable grenades will increase the longevity of both CoD:WW and comMod by introducing a new angle to the game making it fresh and giving the community a new skill base to account for. We hope you`ll bare with us in this decision and test this new gameplay style to see the advantage it can bring to our game.

With reduced calls to unused code and general improvements in the overall mod with Map Pack 3 support this makes this release the most stable and trusthworthy to date.

V2 Change log :-

- Added shoutcaster mode for live streaming and spectating of matches etc
- Added save class set-up feature. Auto saving your last class for the next game (when fs_game folder is kept standard)
- Added the ability to specify "auto-assign only" in public modes with :- set commod_autoassign 1
- Added Grenadetest (Strat) mode to follow the flight path of a grenade when thrown
- Added 1.6 updates and files required for map pack 3 maps
- Added seperate rules for the Australian community removing all explodables & allowing maxpackets 30. Enabled with : set commod_aus 1

- Removed constant setting of first person mode and replaced with blur/sound inconvenience only reducing resources used.
- Removed the ability to cook grenades

- Improved the aesthetics of the weapon selection menu

- Moved players left counters to the HUD for easy removal in frag movies etc

- Cleaned up internal code removing unnecessary calls to functions that aren`t required for a competitive game
